The Good, The Bad, The Ugly...

The following are comments made about my art from the viewers. They provoke the questions, where have we been and where are we going? Some of these comments are deeply rooted in ignorance and fear...racism, sexism, and prejudice. Others are encouraging in their understanding of humanity and beauty. Together, they express the good, the bad and the ugly that is. ~ Szuchay

52. THE VERY GOOD...
"I heard something on NPR the other day how art is so often misunderstood or misinterpreted or labeled as pricey because people don't think that when a person makes a piece it has part of that person incorporated into it. A part of their soul has gone into every piece, every line, every decision, and every curve. However, when I look at your work, I not only feel the passion and delight you receive, but the shear life you give your people, your little extended family, your silent friends. They have soul and they speak, but only for the "cool kids" that look and look and look, and listen and dream, like I just did. THANK YOU! Each one has is some ways become my friend too. Like when you read a good book." ~Trace Goslin

53. "Mindfulness of history, his story deep with it's own tragedies and victories. Paintings that are touched by this experience, wisdom, and truth. He speaks through their faces, gestures, and stillness--The emotions and thoughts that words can not." ~Chris

54. "I love your art! I do I do I do! It's so fancy yet carefree. You definitely put so much energy and emotion into it. The color, bright and bold! I especially delight in the vogue girls, they got so much sass. I should just become an art dealer...then I can be like, "Hello all, this is my client. Buy his artwork please, and thank you." And...

I love that you're passionate with your emotions but also your paintings. I love that you take your work very seriously because it's a part of you. All that soul and feeling you put into every stroke of a brush. Artists have that stigma about them. They focus a lot on the details since they want to figure the artwork out and what it symbolizes. As humans we are walking paintings...these masterpieces created by God's hands. We are beautiful and intriguing pieces of art ready to be discovered. It's like you look at me as this uniquely designed piece of art and you want to understand who I am."
