'What's Going On,' by Marvin Gaye is the main reason why I paint what I paint. When I heard this song as a young child--I imagined what he was singing about. So--I had all of the images that you are currently seeing in my head many moons ago as a youngster. It just took me over two decades to finally paint what was in my mind. I used the imagery of 'What's Going On,' and the aesthetics of the Jazz Era to complete my vision. My story is not that 'simple,' but in a way it is. ~Szuchay
